Sanctuary Tours 2025
We are so excited to FINALLY offer a regular tour schedule and have y’all out to Kanda to meet the residents and learn more about their individual stories and needs!
This year, we're trying something new! Each month, we’ll host two different types of tours: one that’s family-focused and one that’s a little more mature and in-depth. Wondering what the difference is? Great question!
Kindness & Curiosity Tours (Family-Focused)
These tours are designed with kids in mind. We’ll stick to simple themes and topics, visit pigs through fences, and have a little craft table and story time! We encourage kids to ask questions, play, and explore—as long as they're respectful to our residents. These tours blend learning and play, and might be a little more chaotic, loud, and joyfully wild.
Kindness & Curiosity Tour Dates:
5/31, 6/29, 7/26, 8/24, 9/27, & 10/26
Snout to Soul Tours (In-Depth and Reflective)
These tours go deeper into the stories of our residents—some of which may be too heavy for younger guests. We’ll be able to go inside more of the enclosures and have more one-on-one time with the pigs. This tour is centered on connection, personality, and learning about the pigs as individuals. While we always have fun at Kanda, this tour offers a more reflective, quieter kind of joy.
Snout to Soul Tour Dates:
5/17, 6/15, 7/12, 8/10, 9/13, 10/12, & 11/8

Private Tours
Private tours are offered to Kanda supporters who sponsor a resident or make a monthly pledged donation of at least $10/month. You can sign up to sponsor a resident here or make a pledge on Patreon here.
Weekends work best for private tours. We may be able to make a weekday work with enough planning and flexibility. Please send us an email to schedule a tour. We really appreciate at least 2 weeks prior to plan a visit.
We understand this may be inconvenient for some. Since we are only 2 people voluntarily running the sanctuary and tours take away precious time from our duties, we must make all our time beneficial to the sanctuary. We appreciate your understanding.
If you are with an organization (school, afterschool program, church, etc.) and would like to schedule a tour, please send us an email to discuss options!
Visiting Guidelines
Attire: Be prepared to get dirty! You will get the most out of your visit if you are comfortable and willing to get messy. Please wear comfortable shoes, not sandals. Pigs also enjoy loose clothing and shoe laces, just to give you a heads up!
Food: Food is strickly prohibited near the residents or in their areas. This is for everyone's safety. Produce donations are encouraged, however they are not to be fed to anyone without permission and supervision. You may bring your own snacks. We do require all snacks to be plant based. Please don't hesitate to ask us if you need clarification. We would also be happy to recommend any near-by vegan eats!
Your Furry Friends: We love your rescued friends! And we love that you love your rescued friends! However we cannot allow any other animals to be present on the property. This is for the safety of both our residents and your furry friends. We do love pictures though!
Accessibility: Our property is mostly flat, except for where the pigs have rooted holes. The sanctuary is accessible to wheelchairs and scooters. There may be an exception if it is muddy. Feel free to contact us prior to coming out with specific questions.
