Join us for our last Visitor Day of 2019!!!
Please join us on Oct 27th from 1-5 pm est to meet our residents, old and new! Kanda had grown a lot this year, and we are so excited to show you all the progress we've made. We can't wait for you to meet the lives you've helped to change with all your love & support of Kanda!
We are going back to the Open House sort of style, as we feel this worked best for everyone. We will take mini groups in with some of the pigs throughout the day! There will be vegan goodies available along with games and activities. We will have a cupcake party at 2 pm for all the Kanda residents! Its a blast to watch the pigs and chickens chomp down on some yummy treats! We will also hold a raffle for some awesome Kanda merchandise, the drawing will be held at 4:30 that day!
Tickets for the event are $15 per person. Children 5 & under are free! For their safety, children 5 & under will not be permitted in with the residents, but will be able to interact with them through the fence. Each ticket includes an entry into our raffle, vegan treats, and of course, meeting the residents of Kanda! Purchase your tickets here!
Attire: Be prepared to get dirty! You will get the most out of your visit if you are comfortable and willing to get messy. Please wear comfortable shoes, not sandals. Pigs also enjoy loose clothing and shoe laces, just to give you a heads up!
Food: Food is strickly prohibited near the residents or in their areas. This is for everyone's safety. Produce donations are encouraged, however they are not to be fed to anyone without permission and supervision. You may bring your own snacks. We do require all snacks to be plant based. Please don't hesitate to ask us if you need clarification. We would also be happy to recommend any near-by vegan eats!
Your Furry Friends: We love your rescued friends! And we love that you love your rescued friends! However we cannot allow any other animals to be present on the property. This is for the safety of both our residents and your furry friends. We do love pictures though!
Accessibility: Our property is mostly flat, except for where the pigs have rooted holes. The sanctuary is accessible to wheelchairs and scooters. There may be an exception if it is muddy. Feel free to contact us prior to coming out with specific questions.
We do offer private tours to larger groups or groups unable to make the Open House days.
Private tours are offered to a minimum of 10 people, with a $10 minimum donation per person. Groups smaller than 10 will still need to meet the $100 minimum. Or you can sponsor a resident monthly and receive a free private tour.
Generally weekends, mostly Sundays, work best for private tours. We may be able to make a weekday work with enough planning and flexibility. Please send us an email to schedule a tour. We would really appreciate at least 2 weeks prior to plan a visit.
We understand this may be inconvenient for some. Since we are only 2 people running the sanctuary and tours do take away precious time from our duties, we must make all our time beneficial to the sanctuary. We appreciate your understanding.
If you are looking to volunteer at the sanctuary please send us an email. We could really use your help! If you do come out to volunteer, be prepared to work hard! Volunteering is not a way to get a free tour.
